An experienced participant: Biopetrol Ltd.

We asked the company manager about previous experiences and new plans in connection with the competition, he told us:

"We would like to measure the quality of our work with joining such international projects as "European Energy Trophy®+". This year our company joined the 2^nd round as the first applicant, like in 2004. This project has a double target. On one hand it shows that you can realize significant energy savings just with changing employees behaviour. On the other hand it has a positive environmental effect, because savings mean smaller environmental impact. This double target suits well to the short and long-term economic and environmental protection plans of Biopetrol Ltd. That’s why we decided to participate in the Energy Trophy®+ again." The company had a well planned activity from the beginning of the competition. They put the goals of Energy Trophy®+ into their ISO 14001 program and hold recently meetings in every month in connection with energy saving. The project manager put out funny awareness raising posters and perfect signs all over the office (Garfield the famous cartoon character reminds the employees of keeping good practices).
